2012 will be full of activities and undertakings for the Regional Institute of Vine and Wine, even though running from 2012 it is going to change its name: IRVOS, that means Regional Institute of Sicily’s Wines and Oils.

It will continue to carry on projects aiming at making Sicilian products famous all around the world, as it has successfully done in 2011. In 2012 it will increase its activities. “Together with wine”- states Dario Cartabellotta, general director – “oil is one of the mainstays of Sicilian agriculture and economy”.

In 2012 IRVOS will carry out a Full Service contractual system to approach firms. 2012/2014 program will be really intense and full of appointments; at first, it will aim at exploiting better Sicilian wines and oils through intelligence marketing, training, communication and promotion. It will also focus on certification and control of DOC wines, Sicilian oils and olives, on research, change, distribution, and on wine-gastronomical development of Sicily through direct sales, wine-tourism, “Wine in moderation” culture and promotion of the Mediterranean diet.

The wide IRVOS’ program will develop these five points through projects, fairs, workshops and manifestations together with its aggregation strategy that has allowed to carry out producers’ associations like Providi, Vibiosi and Vitesi.
