(essea) Sicilian exquisite art treasures and natural beauties have been revealed to the thousands visitors of the Italian stand in Shanghai thanks to the so called "Qr code". Sicily is the only one, among the Italian regions taking part in the Expo 2010, to use this innovative technology in museum systems.
Thanks to the optical code linked to each piece of artwork, it is possible to easily connect to the Sicilian Cultural Heritage website, through your own mobile phone. There you will find detailed descriptions of the art treasures in three different languages: Italian, English and Chinese. With this new technological solution, visitors have been able to discover the secrets of the Morgantina vessels and the Phiale from Caltavuturo, but of course there are so many other Sicilian beauties to find out on the website.
"Chinese visitors appreciate the possibility to use the 'Qr code' to get to know Sicily and part of its history - as the assessor Gaetano Armao, for Cultural Heritage and Sicilian Identity, said today - We're proud for being the only region to use this technology that will certainly turn into a winning choice. The Shanghai Expo can be a great opportunity to develop economic and touristic relations with the huge Chinese market".
