This is not the first time that strange phenomena occur on the Madonie mountains, where “peculiar” sightings frequently take place. This time the sighting concerned a mysterious sphere of light that appeared near Polizzi Generosa. Francesco Silvestri, a 41 year old, owner of a butcher shop, was the witnesses of this event.
I had just finished work – said the man – when outside the shop, at around nine o’clock in the evening I saw a large ball of light in the sky. Like a comet, but bigger. After a couple of seconds the ball moved and disappeared behind the mountains”
It is probably a coincidence but the “ball of light” – according to Silvestri – appeared in the same direction in which a couple of boys, around twenty days ago, near Castellana Sicula, met a “big dark man”, two and a half metres tall,  with “tentacles” instead of arms, (click here to read the story).
Whether it is a coincidence or not, in Sicily in the last few months the sighting of strange objects  has become particularly frequent. Some people think that the frequency of these sightings is linked to the approaching of the year 2012, but we just repeat what we hear around, sometimes glancing towards the heavens.
